Stewartstown grabbed the lead with two runs in the bottom of the first, but York Township responded with eight runs over its next five at bats en route to a 13-3 road victory in Susquehanna League baseball action on Sunday.
Morgan Markey cracked a home run for the winners, and Ryan Leader and Kevin Krebs collected three hits apiece. Krebs drove in two runs. Derek Pitzer (two hits, two RBIs) and Austin Calaman (two hits) also had productive days for Township.
Jason Mitchell stroked two hits, including a homer for Stewartstown, and Dave Loban supplied two hits.
Winning pitcher Casey Markey, after being charged with two runs in the opening inning, pitched five straight scoreless innings before Mitchell's two-out homer in the bottom of the seventh broke the spell. Markey struck out four and walked four while allowing eight hits.
Township improved to 15-9, and Stewartstown fell to 1-22.
