A severe thunderstorm warning issued for York and Adams counties was canceled Friday morning, with the National Weather Service saying the storm has moved out of the area.

But Yorkers should still be careful Friday, which is forecast to be sunny and hot with a high near 98, though the humidity will make it feel hotter. The heat advisory means people should take extra precautions if working or spending time outside. People should wear lightweight and loose-fitting clothing and drink enough water to stay hydrated, according to the National Weather Service.

The state has also issued an air quality alert for Friday, urging people with breathing problems to avoid the outdoors.

And there's no relief in sight for the weekend. There's a low of 69 forecast for Friday night, before another scorcher starts Saturday. There might be isolated showers, with thunderstorms also possible after noon. Skies will be partly sunny with a high near 95.

There's also a chance of showers and thunderstorms Saturday night, with a low around 70.

Sunday's high is also expected to reach 95 before dipping to 69 overnight.

Temperatures could be slightly cooler for the start of the work week, with a high of 91 expected Monday.
