The board, which had canceled a special meeting days ago, may lower the 17 percent tax increase it passed in mid-June, as well as restore full day kindergarten, according to school officials. The meeting will be at the administration building.
Previously:York City School Board has canceled the special meeting for Thursday night, according to the the district.
The district had scheduled a meeting to possibly reopen the budget in light of new education funding numbers coming down from lawmakers, but board President Margie Orr said she decided it was too soon to make any budget changes for York City.
Orr said once the state budget is confirmed and York City gets the $7 million in additional funding that lawmakers said is coming, York City will have the special meeting. Orr said lowering taxes, adding full day kindergarten and lowing class sizes would all be on the table.
