A York man was one of two people who played winning Cash 5 numbers on Wednesday.
The Pennsylvania Lottery announced Thursday that Barry Hess purchased one of the two jackpot-winning Cash 5 tickets worth more than $234,000. He bought it at a Hess gas station at 3311 N. George St. in East Manchester Township.
Hess could not be reached for comment.
Hess contacted the Pennsylvania Lottery on Thursday about his ticket, said Lauren Piccolo, Pennsylvania Lottery spokeswoman. He has no relationship with the gas station, she said.
The store will receive a $500 bonus.
The Hess station referred comments to the corporate office, which has not released a comment.
The second ticket from Wednesday's drawing was sold in Crawford County.
Each ticket correctly matched all five balls, 05-17-32-39-42, to split a jackpot of $468,613, winning $234,306.50, less 25 percent federal taxes.
Cash 5 winners have one year from the drawing date to claim prizes, according to the announcement.
