The York Revolution has acquired the rights to middle infielder Kyle Haines from the Gary South Shore Rail Cats of the American Association in exchange for future considerations.

The trade was reported on both the Atlantic League and American Association websites.

Haines was batting .258 with three homers and 13 RBIs in 124 at-bats over 35 games this season for Gary. Last year for Gary, Haines hit .309 with one homer and 24 RBIs.

The 29-year-old switch-hitter previously played in the Atlantic League for the Camden Riversharks in 2009 and 2010, hitting .253 in 2009 and .254 in 2010.

He was drafted in 31st round of the 2004 first-year player draft by the San Francisco Giants. He reached as high as Class AA in affiliated baseball. He's a career .269 hitter in the minor leagues.
