A Baltimore man escaped serious injury late Wednesday night when he was shot in the back, police said.

Sean Thomas, 35, was treated and released from York Hospital, a hospital spokeswoman said.

York City Police said Thomas was in the 400 block of Walnut Street when he was shot about 11:30 p.m. He was taken to the hospital by ambulance.

Police did not reveal whether they know the motive for the shooting, and said no arrests had been made as of Thursday morning.
