Carroll Township Police arrested a man they say stole an ATV and then crashed into a police car on June 21.

Police were dispatched to the area of Logan Road for a report of an ATV being driven on the road about 8:40 p.m., according to police.

Police found Nathan Paul Yates, 18, of no fixed address riding the ATV. An officer was able to stop the ATV, but not before it crashed into a patrol car as Yates attempted to get away, police said.

The patrol car sustained minor damage.

Yates was taken into custody after a brief struggle with police. He was taken to central booking for processing and arraignment, police said.

Yates his charged with theft, receiving stolen property and driving without a license, police said.

He remains in York County Prison in lieu of $30,000 bail.
