The surging York Revolution scored four times in the ninth inning to earn a 7-4 comeback victory over the Bridgeport Bluefish at The Ballpark at Harbor Yard on Tuesday evening.

The Revs have won four consecutive games, tying a season-high, and have also won seven of their last eight overall. York stayed within five games of first-place Lancaster in the Atlantic League Freedom Division. The Revs will go for a sweep on Wednesday night.

Down a run in the top of the ninth, the Revs claimed their first victory of the season when trailing after eight innings, batting around and rapping six singles. They set a season-high for hits in an inning as well.

Andres Perez and Michael Hernandez each slapped singles with one out, and Travis Scott tied the game with a bloop single into left, scoring Perez. With two outs, Danny Gonzalez battled his way on base with a walk, and closer Jorge Julio committed a balk, allowing the go-ahead run to score. Salvador Paniagua capped the rally with a two-run single into center, his third hit of the night.

Bridgeport had taken a 4-3 lead in the bottom of the eighth, scoring an unearned run on Norm Hutchins' sacrifice fly to left. Eddie Rogers had reached on a throwing error by pitcher Adam Thomas on a bunt to lead off the inning, and scored the tying run. Thomas (3-2) allowed only the unearned run, however, to earn the win.

Revs righty Ricardo Gomez struck out the side in the ninth to earn his first save, denying Bridgeport the 1,000th win in franchise history.

The game was scoreless through the first four innings, before York grabbed a fifth-inning lead on a Brandon Haveman RBI single to left-center, extending his hitting streak to 10 consecutive games. It scored Paniagua, who had doubled to left.

Bridgeport tied the score at 1-1 on a sac fly to left by Kennard Jones in the bottom of the fifth, the only run allowed by Revs' starter Omar Javier in his five innings of work. Javier allowed three hits and walked one while striking out two in the no-decision.

Paniagua came through with a two-out, two-run single to right field in the sixth to give York a 3-1 lead, but Bridgeport again tied it in the bottom half of the inning on a two-run homer by Brock Peterson.

The Revs pounded 17 hits in the game, including 15 over the final five innings. Paniagua was 3-for-5 with a season-high four RBIs. Haveman, Hernandez and Scott all had three hits each as well. Scott extended his hitting streak to seven consecutive games.

Notes: The Revs (31-27) have reached four games above the .500 mark for the first time this season, and are now 23-11 since May 24. They also improved to 17-9 in June, one win away from matching the club record for wins in June, and two wins shy of matching the club record for wins in any month. ... York's Chris Cody (4-6, 4.38) will face Bridgeport's Mike Tarsi (0-0, 1.86) at 7:05 p.m. on Wednesday night.
