A documentary film about former Penn State football coach Joe Paterno will be shown at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 29, at Penn State York's Pullo Center.

"The Joe We Know" will be presented by the Penn State Alumni Association-York County Chapter.

A total of 445 tickets are available for the free private showing.

The film pays tribute to Paterno's "Grand Experiment" of combining successful athletics and academics.

Before the showing of the film, Lee Rubin, a former Penn State defensive back, will do a special introduction. After the showing, a producer of the film will hold a question-and-answer session. Matthew Rice, a former Penn State defensive lineman and artist, will display his work.

The film was originally created and intended as a belated birthday gift to Paterno, who died in January. It is a collection of videotaped interviews with former football team members who played under Paterno. According to the film biography, those players detail how Paterno helped them grow from boys into men.
