State police charged two men for allegedly stealing copper wires from Williams Gas Pipeline in Lower Chanceford Township.
Derick Lynn Hoke, 28, of Brogue remains in York County Prison in lieu of $70,000 bail, according to online court documents.
He is charged with theft, receiving stolen property, criminal mischief and two counts of risking a catastrophe, documents state.
Hoke is accused stealing copper from the site on four separate occasions between Nov. 23 and Feb. 28, police said.
It cost $40,000 to replace the copper wire and repair damages, police said.
Gregory Copen Jr., 24, of New Park is accused of taking part in one of the thefts.
He's charged with theft and receiving stolen property, police said.
However, online court documents do not list any charges against Copen in relation to the thefts.
Charges against Hoke were filed on March 13 and a pre-trial conference is scheduled for July 17 at the York County Judicial Center, documents state.
