A 54-year-old man died after a motor vehicle accident in Fawn Township on Friday evening, according to York County Deputy Coroner Steve Cosey.

David Pakacki, of Fawn Grove, died from multiple trauma following a crash that occurred on Bald Eagle Road at 7:50 p.m. on Friday, the coroner said.

According to state police, Pakacki was traveling north on Bald Eagle Road at a high rate of speed and lost control of his vehicle while negotiating a left curve turn.

His vehicle then went off the east side of the road and struck a large tree, said police. The injuries he sustained from the crash revealed that he was not wearing his seat belt, police said.

Pakacki was transported to York Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 9:30 p.m.

No autopsy will be performed, and state police are investigating the accident, the coroner said.
