A mosquito sample collected by Penn State Extension staff on June 12 in North York has tested positive for West Nile Virus by the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection. This is the third mosquito collection to test positive for the virus this year in York County.
Additional surveillance and mosquito trapping in North York is being performed by Penn State Cooperative Extension staff and PA DEP staff.
