Josh Rinehart edged Chess Sprenkle by one stroke to win his first Briarwood West Golf Club championship.

Rinehart recorded a two-day total of 146 (68-78), and Sprenkle fired 73-74 for a 147 total.

Doug Bacon captured the first flight title with 154, three shots ahead of Jeff Shank.

Mark Fisher nipped Rick Hoke by one shot, 159 to 160, to win the second flight.

HOPPLE SCORES ACE AT BRIARWOOD EAST: Ross Hopple scored a hole in one while playing this past Saturday at Briarwood East Golf Course. Hopple used a 3-hybrid to ace No. 8, a 168-yard hole. Michael Hopple, Chuck Lecrone and Don Crowl witnessed the shot.

MOTTER TAKES SOUTH HILLS SENIOR TITLE: Bret Motter put together an excellent round on Sunday to capture the South Hills Golf Club Senior championship. Motter fired a 72, five strokes ahead of second-place finisher, Bob Lookenbill. Alan Beily and Ron Duff tied for third place with 78s. Zeke Leonard and Denny Moul tied for low-net honors with 68s.

HANOVER MAN GETS ACE AT BRIARWOOD EAST: Hanover's Westley Runkle recently had a hole in one on Monday at Briarwood East Golf Club. Runkle used a 7-iron to ace the 135-yard 14th hole. It was witnessed by Ryan Runkle and Jake Sponseller.

TEEN GETS HOLE IN ONE AT BRIARWOOD WEST: Brett Reiber, 14, had a hole in one on Sunday at Briarwood West Golf Club. Reiber used a 3-hybrid to ace the 170-yard 17th hole. It was his first career hole in one. It was witnessed by Scott Reiber, Greg Reiber and Buzz Gordon.
