An arrest warrant has been issued for a man York City Police say gunned down another man on Friday.
Rahsaun Bush, 20, whose last known address was in the 400 block of Walnut Street, is wanted for the killing of Kanyleron Travanti McDavid, 29, of New Bern, N.C.
Bush is 5-foot-9 and has a medium build and black hair and brown eyes, according to city police.
He is to be considered armed and dangerous, police said.
Police responded shortly before noon Friday to the 400 block of Walnut Street, where they found McDavid unresponsive on the third floor of a residence. McDavid had been shot multiple times.
York County Deputy Coroner Claude Stabley pronounced McDavid dead at the scene.
Sex offender: McDavid was wanted by the Craven County (North Carolina) Sheriff's Department for failing to change his address as a sex offender, the Sun Journal of New Bern, N.C., reported on Saturday.
McDavid had been ordered to register as a sex offender for 10 years after his 2006 conviction on two counts of indecent liberty with a minor, according to the North Carolina Department of Justice.
He was also sentenced to prison time for the offences.
The North Carolina Department of Public Safety lists McDavid as an absconder, meaning he had fled to avoid arrest.
York City Police asks anyone with information about the shooting or the whereabouts of Bush to call the 846-1234, to leave a tip at 849-2204 or to text "YORKTIPS" at 847411.
