York Township ended a five-losing skid Thursday evening by knocking off first-place Red Lion in a Susquehanna League baseball game, 5-1.
Township starter Austin Calaman pitched a complete game and held Red Lion to one run on four hits with one walk.
Township went ahead in the sixth on an RBI single from Jay Dimler and scored another on an error. Mike Wokulich's two-run single in the seventh capped off the scoring.
Joe Doyle scored Red Lion's lone run on an error.
Red Lion dropped into a tie for first place with Conrads at 11-4. Township improved to 10-6.
OTHER SUSQUEHANNA LEAGUE GAMES
EAST PROSPECT 2, COLUMBIA 1: At East Prospect, Brian Crumbling pitched a complete-game four-hitter to get the win. He struck out two and walked four. Ryan Saxman had two hits, including a double, and scored a run for the winners. Joel Springer had two hits, including a double, and drove in Columbia's only run. Paul Giulio pitched well in defeat, allowing just six hits in a complete-game effort. He struck out three and walked four. All of the game's runs were scored in the fifth inning.
CONRADS 7, HALLAM 4 (10 INNINGS): At Hallam, Justin Berkstresser's two-run single in the top of the 10th scored Travis Hake and Kevin Keesey to secure the victory. Berkstresser also doubled earlier in the game. Brandon Miller went 3-for-5 for the winners, including three RBIs, and also pitched the final four plus innings to record the victory. For Hallam, Travis Stump pitched the first six innings, striking out three and walking two. Jon Benchich, Joe Pietrobone and Mark Sheckard each doubled for Hallam.
WINDSOR 8, FELTON 3 (10 INNINGS): At Felton, Rick Thompson led off the top of the 10th with a solo homer to give the visitors the lead for good. Windsor went on to plate four more runs in the 10th to secure the victory. Thompson led the Windsor offense by going 3-for-6, including the solo homer, to go with two RBIs. Jordan Shenk (2-for-6, triple), Paul Blymire (2-for-5), Shawn Wilson (2-for-4, double), Luke Keeny (2-for-5) and Matt Robinson (2-for-4, double) also excelled for Windsor, which moved within a half game of first place at 11-5. Wilson picked up the win on the mound, pitching the final four-plus innings, striking out six and walking none. For Felton, Seth Hamill went 2-for-4 with one RBI, while teammate Barak Gohn pitched seven-plus innings, striking out six and walking one in a no-decision.
JACOBUS 10, STE WARTSTOWN 5: Visiting Jacobus collected 14 hits behind the efforts of Jed Larkin (3-for-5, RBI, three runs scored), Drew Kelly (3-for-5, two RBIs, run scored) and Mike Austin (4-for-5, four RBIs). Jacobus is now 10-5 and just a game out of first place. Greg Sieling paced Stewartstown at the plate by going 2-for-4 with a double and a homer with three RBIs and a run scored.
