A new Arby's Restaurant has opened in York Township.
York-based Shipley Energy on Wednesday announced the opening of its third Arby's location in the region, selling roast beef sandwiches and other fast food at the southeast intersection of I-83 and Leader Heights Road.
A grand opening celebration is planned for June 23, featuring Jeff Diggs of Great Country 107.7 WGTY between 3 and 5 p.m. and a chance to win $1,000 worth of gas. Face painting and balloons will also be provided from 1 to 5 p.m., and roast beef sandwiches will be on sale at three for $5.
The new store employs 45 people and seats 42 customers, according to Bret Hoffmaster, a spokesman for Shipley.
Shipley broke ground in February for the new restaurant, which is at the site of the former Mr. Bill's Quarterdeck.
The energy company also owns and operates two Arby's Restaurants at its Tom's convenience stores in Hanover and Milroy, Pa.
