There's now a tie for the top spot at the Women's Eastern Golf Association Amateur Championship being played at the Country Club of York.

First-round leader Isabelle Lendl followed up her first-round 70 with a second-round 74 on Wednesday, good for a 144 total. Rachel Rohanna is now deadlocked with Lendl after a pair of 72s. Lendl, the daughter of former pro tennis star Ivan Lendl, is from Goshen, Conn., while Rohanna is from Waynesburg, Pa. Lendl golfs for the University of Florida, while Rohanna golfs for Ohio State University.

Amanda Steinhagen of Oak Hill, Va., is alone in third place with a 145 total after rounds of 71 and 74. Steinhagen plays for Longwood University.

The two Country Club of York golfers in the field both improved on their first-round performances. Amy Kennedy followed her opening-round 85 with an 80 on Wednesday, good for a 165 total. She's one-shot ahead of CCY's Connie Shorb, who has had rounds of 87 and 79.

The three-day event is set to conclude on Thursday.

The WEGA Amateur is one of the more prestigious amateur events on the East Coast. Several of its former champions have gone on to successful careers on the LPGA Tour, including JoAnne Carner, Peggy Bell, Laura Diaz, Debbie Massey, Patti Rizzo and Beth Bauer. In addition, the tournament has been played on some nationally known courses, including Aronimink, Baltusrol, Congressional, Merion and The Country Club.
