WINDGAP, Pa. - Authorities say a state trooper was accidentally shot in the leg at a police station in eastern Pennsylvania.
State police spokeswoman Maria Finn declined to identify the trooper hurt Thursday at the Belfast barracks in Northampton County.
Finn says the wound is not life-threatening. She says the shooting is being treated as a non-criminal act and there is no danger to the public.
Police officials tell the Express-Times of Easton that the incident occurred outside the station in a non-public parking lot used by troopers.
District Attorney John Morganelli declined to comment to the newspaper.
