West York Police arrested a convicted sex offender Thursday for failing to comply with Megan's Law registration requirements.

Shaton Ahneal Orr, 26, of the 1100 block of West Princess Street in the borough remained in York County Prison on $10,000 bail and a parole violation, a prison spokeswoman said. If Orr were to post bail, he wouldn't be released because of the violation.

Orr told state police he was living at an address in the 1500 block of Monroe Street. But when West York Police received a state police filer, which included the address Orr gave police and his picture, officers didn't recall seeing him in the area before, police said.

He was arrested by police at the address in the 1100 block of West Princess Street, police said.

Orr was convicted of child pornography and corruption of minor in 2011 and ordered to register of a sex offender for 10 years, according to online court documents.
