A Florida defensive back has become the ninth verbal commitment in Penn State's 2013 football recruiting class.

Neiko Robinson is a 5-foot, 11-inch, 170-pounder from Bratt, Fla., which is located in the Florida panhandle near the Alabama border. He attended Northview High School. He reportedly runs the 40-yard dash in 4.5 seconds.

Alabama, Florida and Florida State had expressed interest, but had not made offers to Robinson. Penn State was reportedly his first offer.

Defensive coordinator Ted Roof and secondary coach John Butler spearheaded Robinson's recruitment for the Nittany Lions.

He's rated a three-star recruit, on a five-star scale, by Rivals.com. He's not rated by Scout.com.
