JACOBUS -- Alex Tucci enjoyed an extremely successful weekend for the Jacobus baseball team.
After helping to secure a shutout on Saturday, Tucci tossed one of his own on Sunday.
The left-hander shut down Felton on two hits, both singles, and the Jackals completed their weekend sweep with a 7-0 victory.
The back-to-back shutouts enabled Jacobus to push its Susquehanna League record to two games above .500 at 7-5.
Matt Peterson got things started for the Jackals on Saturday with a highly impressive performance. He pitched six scoreless innings in a 4-0 defeat of first-place York Township. Tucci came on to pitch the seventh, and final, inning.
On Sunday, the former York Catholic star struck out six Felton batters and walked only two.
Tucci also helped his own cause by going 3-for-3, with two doubles, while driving in one run.
Corey Knaub, meanwhile, supplied two hits, including a solo home run, and Mike Austin cracked a bases-loaded double in the sixth inning to drive in three runs.
