York Township hasn't won a Susquehanna League regular-season championship since 1997.

The 2012 Township team seems determined to end that drought.

First-place Township improved to 9-1 this season with a 17-0 pounding of Stewartstown in Spry on Thursday evening. It holds a 1½-game lead over second-place Red Lion (8-3).

Township raked Stewartstown pitching for 19 hits, nine of which went for extra bases. Morgan Markey cracked three doubles for the winners, and Mike Wokulich delivered a three-run home run and a double. Dan Westfall added a two-run home run, and D.J. Reed supplied three hits.

Township pitcher Austin Calaman, meanwhile, stopped Stewartstown on three singles, two by Craig Martin. Calaman struck out four and walked one.

OTHER SUSQUEHANNA LEAGUE GAMES

HALLAM 5, FELTON 0: At Felton, Hallam pitcher Jaron Shimmel shut down the home team on four hits, all singles. The right-hander also displayed excellent control, striking out eight and walking only two. Mark Sheckard cracked a solo homer for the Express, and Jon Benchich collected two hits in three at bats and scored a run.

CONRADS 10, JACOBUS 5: At Jacobus, the visitors plated four runs in the top of the fourth and top of the fifth to put the game out of reach. Kevin Keesey led Conrads, going 3-for-3, including a double, to go with three RBIs, while teammate Aaron Grim went 2-for-3 with one RBI. For Jacobus, Brian Crimmel (2-for-3), Nate Kopp (2-for-4), Brian Hudish (2-for-2, two RBIs) and A.J. Hammond (solo homer) led the way.

WINDSOR 15, EAST PROSPECT 1: At East Prospect, Shawn Wilson led Windsor, going 4-for-5, including a double, with four runs scored. Rick Thompson (2-for-4, homer, three RBIs, two runs), Chris Liggitt (2-for-4, three RBIs), Zach Harrison (2-for-4, double), Chris Stoudt (2-for-4), Luke Keeney (2-for-4), Jordan Shenk (2-for-5, two RBIs) and Joshua Scott (1-for-1, two RBIs) also excelled for Windsor. On the mound, Scott struck out three and walked none in five innings to pick up the victory, while Roy Walker pitched the sixth, striking out the side. Wilson closed out the game by striking out one. For East Prospect, Clay Chaney hit a solo homer.

RED LION 8, COLUMBIA 0: At Red Lion, Jason Enoch pitched a complete-game shutout, fanning 12, while walking two to lead the home team. Eric McNeil went 4-for-4 with one RBI for the winners, while Daryl Harang went 2-for-3 with two RBIs and John Wilt went 2-for-4.
