A Maryland man was arrested early Friday morning in Dover Township after a vehicle pursuit.
Angel Luis Alicea, 27, of Aberdeen, Md., is charged with possession with intent to deliver. He is free on $10,000 bail.
Alicea was in a Ford Explorer that fled a Northern York County Regional Police officer who tried to stop it for an illegal left turn at West 11th Avenue and North George Street about 11:30 p.m. Thursday, according to police.
The officer pursued the SUV west on Route 30 but terminated the chase after the SUV turned north onto Carlisle Road in West Manchester Township. Another Northern York County Regional officer saw the SUV driving at a high rate of speed west on Emig Mill Road in Dover Township a few minutes later.
The officer found the SUV crashed at the intersection of Emig Mill Road and South Salem Church Road. Alicea and a second person, whose name was not released, fled from the SUV on foot, police said.
Police recovered several plastic bags of marijuana from the SUV, a Pennsylvania identification card and a black Adidas sneaker, police said.
A police officer found Alicea, who was missing a shoe, walking along Emig Mill Road just before 2 a.m. He was placed under arrest and taken to central booking for processing and arraignment, police said.
The second person in the SUV is wanted for questioning. Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 292-3647, or through nycrpd.org.
