Three robbers, one armed with a gun, assaulted a York City man, then forced him inside his home and pointed the gun at his girlfriend while the couple's two small children were watching, police said.

Jaymir Lawrence, 24, of the first block of North Tremont Street, told officers he walked outside about 11:45 p.m. Sunday night to take out the trash, then sat on his front porch to smoke a cigarette, York City Police said.

He was approached by three men, and one asked for a cigarette. Lawrence gave him one, then turned away.

At that point he was struck twice on the back of the head by an unknown object, police said. The robbers grabbed him and pulled him into the vestibule of his apartment building, according to police.

One pointed a gun at him while the other two took his cell phone, watch, earrings and keys, police said.

They then led Lawrence upstairs to his second-floor apartment and asked him where his money was. They put him in his bathroom and one of the robbers guarded him while the other two went into his living room and confronted Lawrence's girlfriend.

The couple's two young children were in the living room when one of the robbers pointed a gun at her and asked her where Lawrence's money was, police said; the girlfriend said she didn't know.

The robbers eventually got Lawrence's wallet, containing $150 cash, and left, police said.

A detailed description of them was not available.
