A Lower Windsor Township man faces charges after a single-vehicle crash early Saturday morning that left another man in a coma.

Tracey Myers, 28, of the first block of East Howard Street in Dallastown, remains in a coma in York Hospital's intensive-care unit, police said.

He was thrown from a Nissan Titan pickup truck being driven by Steven Shane Miller when it crashed in the 600 block of South Blacksmith Avenue, near Burkholder Road in Windsor Township, about 1:15 a.m. Saturday, according to York Area Regional Police.

Miller, 21, of 146 Haven Drive in Lower Windsor Township, ran from the scene on foot, according to his charging documents.

Another passenger, Anthony E. Holmes, 42, of Harrisburg, suffered minor injuries and remained at the scene.

The crash: Arriving officers found the pickup truck partially down an embankment.

A bleeding Holmes, who was a front-seat passenger, was leaning over Myers as he lay unconscious, documents state.

Myers, who had been sitting in a rear seat before being thrown from the truck, suffered major injuries as well as a broken left arm, police said.

Holmes told officers Miller had been drinking that night and was speeding when he lost control of the truck and it crashed, documents state.

After the crash, officers reached Miller by phone, but he hung up on them, charging documents allege.

Miller was subsequently arrested and arraigned Sunday morning. He remains in York County Prison on $25,000 bail, charged with accidents involving personal injury, reckless endangerment and six summary traffic offenses, including reckless driving and failure to notify police of a crash, documents state.
