The Dover Area School Board on Monday approved district administration transfers effective July 12.
Of the nine school board members, Terry Emig was the only person to vote "no" on the transfers.
After the meeting, he would only say that he did not agree with all the transfer decisions and thought some school officials should have been kept in the positions they already had.
Robert Krantz, the district's superintendent, said the transfers are necessary as the district is "trying to do more with less" by using current officials to fill other positions without hiring more people. The transfers also will alleviate Krantz of additional responsibilities he took on from unfilled positions.
The transfers include Joel Riedel, Dover Area High School's principal moving from that position to attendance/child/accounting/truancy/pupil personnel services and secondary support administrator.
William Rickard will be promoted from assistant high school principal to principal.
Other transfers are:
**Sue Kanigsberg from director of instruction and pupil personnel services to director of curriculum, instruction and staff development.
**Shane Miller from assistant high school principal to assistant principal at Dover Intermediate School
**Galen Rupp from assistant principal at Dover Intermediate to assistant high school principal.
