Alcohol and wet roads were factors when a car crashed into a York Township home on Friday night, police said.

York Area Regional Police have not yet released the name of the driver, a man from the York area, because charges have not yet been filed against him, police said.

Regional Sgt. Jeffrey Dunbar said the man was driving on Iron Stone Hill Road about 10:45 p.m. when he lost control at a curve and struck the home at 2889 Iron Stone Hill Road.

Resident James Counts and his wife were outside the home when the crash happened, but their 7-year-old son was inside, Dunbar said.

The Counts family escaped injury, but the driver was taken to York Hospital for treatment of injuries, Dunbar said.

It's the second time in about 2-1/2 years the home has been struck by a vehicle, he said.

And nearly five years ago, in October 2007, a teenager crashed his car into the Counts home so hard that portions of the home's brick wall collapsed from the roof to the ground.
