Traffic will be shifted and lane restricted for motorists traveling both directions on Lowther Street through Lemoyne, starting at 7 a.m. daily, weather permitting, for the next several weeks.

A 1952 concrete bridge carrying the street over I-83 is being replaced so the highway can be widened to reduce bottlenecking, according to the state's Department of Transportation.

A new two-span, four-lane bridge will be built and traffic detoured on four weekends, the dates for which PennDOT has not yet released.

The project is slated for completion by the end of May 2013.
