A new restaurant is set to open in Queensgate Towne Center this fall, adding to a growing list of dining options in the York Township shopping plaza.
What is now a large pad of fresh dirt near Springwood Road will soon be the address of a new Chipotle Mexican Grill.
The Denver-based burrito chain broke ground and plans to open its next York County location there in November, according to Joella Cruz, secretary at LMS Commercial Real Estate, a Lancaster-based property management firm which governs 300,000 square feet of retail space in Queensgate.
Chipotle operates another York County location at 2801 Concord Road in Springettsbury Township, but company officials declined comment at this stage of development.
The company recently announced a first-quarter income increase of 26 percent to $640.6 million in revenue--a growth executives attributed partially to new restaurant openings and higher store sales.
During the first quarter, Chipotle opened 32 restaurants and plans to open 155 to 165 during the 2012 fiscal year, according to company documents.
Nittany Pizza, Sweet Frog and Macklin's Cupcakes & Coffee are all open in the Queensgate Towne Center.
