A McSherrystown man was killed Tuesday afternoon when he crashed his motorcycle on the Baltimore Pike in Mount Joy Township, Adams County.

Robin Lee Stotsky Jr., 26, was pronounced dead at the scene of the 2 p.m. crash, state police said.

Police said Stotsky was southbound at a high rate of speed, tried to turn left onto Hickory Road and lost control.

Stotsky laid his Honda motorcycle on its side and slid into a metal chain-link fence, then struck a utility pole, police said.

Adams County Coroner Pat Felix said Stotsky died of abdominal and chest injuries. He was wearing a full helmet, she said.
