A metal-rock band that hails from York County is making it big on the national and international music scene.
Halestorm will kick off a worldwide tour Tuesday with a show in Corpus Christi, Texas.
The band will make its way up the East Coast during the next few weeks before a series of gigs overseas. Halestorm has stops scheduled in Germany, Switzerland, Luxembourg, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Australia, Belgium, France, Italy, Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Austria, according to the band's website.
The band has not scheduled any shows locally but will play in Columbus, Ohio, on May 19 and Camden, N.J., on May 20.
Halestorm got its start in Red Lion about 15 years ago, when siblings Lzzy and Arejay Hale first took the stage as kids.
Lzzy Hale is the band's lead vocalist, backed by her drummer brother, guitarist Joe Hottinger and bassist Josh Smith. Halestorm signed with Atlantic Records in 2005.
The band recently released its second studio album, "The Strange Case Of...", featuring tracks including "Love Bites (So Do I)," "Daughters of Darkness," and "I Miss the Misery."
The album is number 40 on the Billboard 200 and number three on Billboard's hard rock album chart. It is available for sale on the band's website, www.halestormrocks.com.
