Two men were assaulted during separate robberies in York City on Sunday.

York City Police said that about 10:20 p.m., Edward Davidson was walking in the area of East Prospect Street and Vander Avenue when he was approached by two teens who asked him if he had any money.

They took Davidson's cellphone, but dropped it when they saw its display screen read "911."

Davidson, 54, of East Poplar Street, told them he had no cashed, at which point one of the teens punched him, police said. Davidson then pulled out $2 and gave it to the robbers, who fled.

About 12:35 a.m. Sunday, Donell Mims was robbed in the 300 block of East Mason Avenue.

Police said he told officers he was walking through the alley, looking for real estate where he could open up a tattoo shop, when he was approached by four or five men wearing bandannas over their faces.

The robbers pushed Mims, 35, of Carlisle, to the ground and stole his wallet and phone, police said.
