SUGAR LAND, Texas -- York Revolution manager Andy Etchebarren has said on several occasions that he believes his team will have the best lineup in the Atlantic League this season.

That may still turn out to be the case, but right now, Etchebarren's hitters are struggling mightily.

The Revs dropped their third-straight game on Sunday afternoon, 5-0, to the Sugar Land Skeeters in front of 7,111 fans at Constellation Field.

During the season-opening four-game road series, the Revs scored just five total runs, including just two runs in the final three games.

The Revs (1-3) will look to get their bats going when they return to York for their 2012 home opener at Sovereign Bank Stadium on Tuesday against the Camden Riversharks. That game will feature a pregame championship ring ceremony on the field. The Revs are coming off their second-straight Atlantic League crown.

Sugar Land (3-1) struck for a first-inning lead for the third consecutive game, plating a pair of runs early against York starter Jesus Sanchez. Former Rev Jason Botts doubled to drive in a run, accounting for the Skeeters' third consecutive hit to open the game, and Josh Pressley's sacrifice fly made it 2-0 early. Sanchez escaped further trouble, leaving the bases loaded, and went on to retire seven of the final eight batters that he faced in three innings of work.

That proved to more than enough runs for Sugar Land. The Revs did not have a runner reach scoring position after the second inning.

Reliever Duniesky Flores (1-0) earned the win for Sugar Land with two scoreless innings, while Sanchez (0-1) suffered the loss in his first start.

The Revs were held to just five hits for the third consecutive game.

York's Corey Thurman (0-0, 0.00 ERA) gets the ball for his fourth consecutive home opener on Tuesday.
