Dianne Moore, WellSpan's coordinator of women's services, received the Athena Award at the York County Economic Alliance annual celebration event.
The Athena Leadership Award recognizes women who have achieved the highest level of professional excellence while serving the community and actively assisting women in reaching their full potential.
Moore, a registered nurse, has had a significant role in the promotion of women's access to health care in York County, said Dr. Marian Damewood, vice president of women and children service line at WellSpan.
Moore helps coordinate events like the Young Women's Leadership Conference, Spring Fling, Women's Check Up Day, Go Red for Women luncheon and Go Red for Women Fun Girls' Night Out.
She is involved with women's health ranging from overseeing the ongoing new parent education for expectant mothers and fathers, to organizing risk assessments for mid-life and menopausal women, a news release said. She organizes special screening and educational programs and the Well Women newsletter.
"I was very humbled by the award, especially when I saw the list of past recipients and their accomplishments," said Moore. "It's a great honor."
