The York Suburban boys' volleyball team just keeps on rolling.
The first-place Trojans, who moved up to No. 1 in this week's Pennsylvania Volleyball Coaches Association Class AA state poll, downed Central York on Tuesday night, 25-21, 25-23, 25-20 to improve 8-0 in York-Adams League action. Central, the defending PIAA Class AAA state champion, fell to 5-3 in the division.
Ted Hinnenkamp (11 kills), Kody Deiter (32 assists, seven digs), Fred Gard (14 digs) and Jaryd Eshler (nine kills, eight aces) led the Trojans.
Josh Van Wyk (11 kills, six digs, 33 assists), Spencer Ortmyer (10 kills) and Jesse Munson (14 digs) paced Central.
The Panthers won the JV match, 25-23, 25-14.
OTHER BOYS' VOLLEYBALL
SUSQUEHANNOCK 3, NEW OXFORD 0: At Glen Rock, the Warriors rolled to a 25-10, 25-13, 25-17 win behind big matches from Jon Rouse (18 assists, seven digs), Tim Frey (eight kills, three blocks), Thomas Bonitz (10 digs, seven kills) and Thomas Michels (nine digs). New Oxford was led by Tyler Steckbeck (six kills, four digs). Susquehannock won the JV match, 25-14, 25-5.
NORTHEASTERN 3, EASTERN 0: At Manchester, Stephen Braswell filled the statistics sheet for the Bobcats (7-1 in York-Adams League) as they swept the Golden Knights, 25-22, 25-11, 25-12. Braswell recorded eight kills, four aces and 12 digs. Luke Braswell handed out 28 assists for the winners, Matt Hollinger hammered eight kills and Devin Soop made 22 digs. Mike Bair had seven kills for Eastern, and Bryan Sloat supplied 17 assists. Northeastern also won the JV match, 25-22, 25-18.
DALLASTOWN 3, KEN NARD-DALE 0: At Dallastown, Barrett Wingard led the Wildcats to the 25-16, 25-23, 25-15 victory with 25 kills. Eric Swartz had five kills and four digs for Dallastown, while Derek Peiffer had 22 assists and Kyle Brignall had five kills. For the Rams, Nate Ellis had six kills and three blocks, Donald Walters had six kills and Will Caldwell had nine digs. Dallastown won the JV match, 25-16, 25-23.
DOVER 3, RED LION 0: At Dover, the Eagles won, 25-14, 25-16, 25-21. Ryan Lamparter led the home team with 10 kills, three blocks and five digs. Ean Julius had 10 kills and five blocks for Dover, while Brandon Krone had 34 assists and Tyler Lehman had 11 kills and six digs. For the Lions, Dan Longnecker had 15 assists and five digs, Dylan Horne had seven kills and four digs and Jake Fry had five kills and seven digs. Dover won the JV match, 19-25, 25-16, 15-7.
SPRING GROVE 3, WEST YORK 1: At West York, the Rockets rallied for a 20-25, 25-20, 25-10, 25-14 triumph. Aaron Hoff (19 kills), Drew Blecher (33 assists, seven digs), Derek Forbes (10 kills) and Dalton Hall (16 digs) led Spring Grove. West York's stat leaders were Bryce Love (12 kills, five digs) and Brett Strickler (21 assists).
