A York County man escaped serious injury Wednesday morning when he fell on a running chain saw in Lebanon County.

Kevin B. Murphy, 49, of Manchester, suffered a throat injury, according to Cornwall Borough Police.

He was treated at Hershey Medical Center and released, a hospital spokeswoman said.

The incident happened about 8:50 a.m. along Route 322, about a half-mile east of Route 72 in Cornwall, according to police.

Murphy, an employee of Asplundh Tree Expert Co. in Mechanicsburg, was cutting trees and brush along the highway. He was about 20 feet up a steep embankment when he slipped and landed on the running chain saw, police said.

A woman who answered the phone Wednesday afternoon at Asplundh Tree Expert Co. declined comment, but confirmed Murphy "is fine."
