West York's Brandon Kinneman pitched a no-hitter to lead West York to a 7-1 victory over York Catholic in a non-league baseball game on Monday afternoon.
He struck out six and walked three. At the plate, Kinneman also went 2-for-4 with two RBIs.
Kaden Hepler went 2-for-3, including a triple, for West York. Brock Gladfelter went 3-for-3 for the Bulldogs, while Jerrin Toomey went 2-for-4 with two RBIs.
West York improved to 7-2, while York Catholic fell to 5-4.
OTHER BASEBALL
YORK TECH 12, MOUNT CALVARY 7: At Elizabethtown, York Tech pounded 12 hits, including six doubles, to gain the non-league victory. The Spartans packed almost all of their scoring in the first three innings, racking up 11 of their runs. Abdial Narvaez led the Tech attack with three doubles and three RBIs. Tyler Brown also had three hits for the Yorkers, and Luke Bosley and Derrick Smith added two hits apiece. Winning pitcher Sam Brown turned in an excellent relief stint, working five innings. He didn't allow a run in four of the innings. The Spartans improved to 5-6.
RED LION 16, YORK SUBURBAN 6: At Red Lion, Glenn Dietrich's grand slam in the bottom of the sixth capped off a nine-run inning and clinched the 10-run rule victory. Dietrich went 4-for-4 with five RBIs. Shawn Smeltzer went 2-for-4, including a double, to go with three RBIs for the winners. Evan Bittner (2-for-4), Tyler Myers (2-for-4, two RBIs) and Taylor Ohl (2-for-3, two RBIs) also excelled for the Lions. For the Trojans, Jackson Marshall went 2-for-3, while A.J. Hammond hit a three-run homer. Red Lion improved to 5-4.
