Two York County athletes have earned conference player-of-the-week honors for their performances last week.
Kennard-Dale High School graduate Hana Krechel has been named the Commonwealth Conference Women's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week. Krechel, a junior at Lebanon Valley College, earned her second weekly award of the season and the eighth of her career.
Krechel scored 20 points in two games to help LVC to a 2-0 week. She had a school-record nine goals with an assist against Alvernia on Saturday when LVC won 18-12. Earlier in the week, she had four goals and six assists with another school record when she snagged 10 draw controls in a 19-4 blowout of Lycoming.
For the second week in a row, Dallastown High School graduate Melissa Plowman is the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference East Division Women's Tennis Player of the Week. Plowman totaled four wins during the week at No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles.
The Marauder junior has now won six of her last eight singles matches and is 9-4 in the spring campaign. She and teammate Samantha Prager have won three of the last four doubles matches and are a team-best 12-6 on the year. It's the most wins by a Millersville duo since 2004-05.
