A traffic accident in Shrewsbury Borough on Saturday morning led to a fight that left one driver nearly unconscious, according to Southern Regional Police.

Police were dispatched to the 600 block of South Main Street at 11 a.m. on Saturday, where they said that one vehicle pulled out in front of another, causing a crash with no injuries.

Police said that the driver who pulled out from a driveway got out of their vehicle and began a physical confrontation with the other driver until they had choked the driver nearly unconscious. The victim had visible injuries from the choking, according to police.

Police said the suspect, who is not being named due to pending charges, was taken to York Hospital for involuntary mental health evaluation. Charges are pending for the assault, police said.
