The Reynolds Mill Road bridge over the east branch of the Codorus Creek at the border between Springfield and York townships is closed for a rehabilitation project.

The $705,529 project, being done by Kinsley Construction, includes replacing the bridge, beam installation, road approach construction and guide rail installations, according to the state Department of Transportation.

Work is expected to wrap up by the end of July. Until then, Reynolds Mill Road between Twin Arch Road and Water Street will be closed, with detours in place, PennDOT said.

The existing bridge was built in 1947 and is classified as structurally deficient. Reynolds Mill Road averages 1,200 vehicles each day.
