Northeastern and Dallastown are headed for a York-Adams League boys' volleyball showdown on Thursday night.
The Bobcats swept to a 25-20, 25-18, 25-21 victory over visiting Susquehannock on Tuesday, while Dallastown rolled at West York, 25-4, 25-17, 25-23.
Northeastern improved to 4-0 in York-Adams League action and 4-1 overall. The Bobcats are tied for first place with York Suburban, which was idle on Tuesday. Dallastown moved to 4-1 in the league and 4-3 overall.
The Bobcats and Wildcats will square off Thursday night in Dallastown. In the latest Pennsylvania Volleyball Coaches Association poll, Dallastown was ranked 10th in the state in Class AAA, while Northeastern was ranked No. 10 in the state in AA.
At Manchester on Tuesday, the Bobcats got big performances from Luke Braswell (34 assists, eight digs, four blocks), Darryan Markle (nine kills) and Devin Sapp (26 digs) to beat Susquehannock. The Warriors were led by Thomas Bonitz (13 digs, six kills), Jon Rouse (14 assists) and Thomas Michels (16 digs). Susquehannock won the JV match, 25-12, 25-21.
At West York, Derek Peiffer (21 assists), Dylan Smith (11 digs) and Barrett Wingard (14 kills, four blocks, three digs, two aces) paced Dallastown over the Bulldogs. West York's stat leaders were Evan Farrell (12 assists, five digs) and Bryce Love (10 kills, four blocks, three digs).
OTHER BOYS' VOLLEYBALL
RED LION 3, KEN NARD-DALE 2: At Fawn Grove, Red Lion outlasted the homestanding Rams, 23-25, 25-20, 25-22, 20-25, 15-13. Sam Marks and Jake Frey combined for 39 kills for the Lions, Dan Longnecker supplied 55 assists and Dalton Fishel recorded 33 digs. Nate Ellis pounded 16 kills for Kennard-Dale, and Don Walters, Dylan Tessier and Jordan Sommer combined for 22 kills. Alex Caldwell delivered 42 assists and Tessier and Sommer teamed for 30 digs.
DOVER 3, NEW OXFORD 0: At New Oxford, Ryan Lamparter led the Eagles to the York-Adams victory with 14 kills and three digs. Tyler Lehman had 10 kills and five digs, while Brandon Krone had 32 assists and four digs. For the Colonials, Tyler Steckbeck had seven digs and four kills, while Joel Medina had eight assists and four digs. Dover won the JV match, 25-16, 25-10.
CENTRAL YORK 3, EASTERN YORK 0: At Wrightsville, the Panthers rolled, 25-12, 25-19, 26-24. Dylan Hose (42 assists, 15 blocks), Spencer Ortmyer (15 kills) and Josh Van Wyk (12 kills) paced Central. Eastern's leaders were Bryan Sloat (13 assists), Sandon Eaton (12 digs, six kills) and Tyler Himes (10 digs). Central won the JV match, 25-12, 20-25, 15-7.
