The fourth annual Child Abuse Awareness Walk and Family Fun Day will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 14.
The walk is about a mile and a half and begins in Penn Park, 100 W. College Ave., and ends at Kiwanis Lake, on the corner of Parkway Boulevard and North Newberry Street.
An assortment of family friendly activities will include a bounce house, activities, vendors, and Maggie Moo's ice cream.
York Revolution pitcher Chris Cody will be available for autographs.
"The goal is to raise awareness of child abuse, because we have pretty high rates in York County," said Tamara Ramer, health education specialist with the York City Bureau of Health and co-chair of Child Abuse Prevention Outreach Committee. "It's a day for the families to come together and have fun and get some information on child abuse."
Pets on leashes are welcome to join participants in the walk, and the event will be held rain or shine.
Registration is $4 per person or $7 with a T-shirt, and can be done ahead of time or on the day of the walk at 9:30 a.m.
