Dallastown High School's Shane Campbell has signed a National Letter of Intent to play men's soccer at Penn State.

Campbell, a defender, will join his former Dallastown teammate, Christian Kaschak, at PSU. Kaschak is a freshman early enrollee with the Nittany Lions.

Campbell was a three-year varsity starter for Dallastown, helping the Wildcats win three York-Adams League Division I championships, two York-Adams League Tournament championships (2010-11) and a 2010 District 3-AAA title.

A team co-captain as a junior and senior, Campbell was a three-time All-York-Adams League selection (2009-11) and earned all-state honors in 2011.

Campbell played club soccer with the FC Delco Academy team from 2009-12, reaching the USST U-16 Academy playoffs in 2011. He has also been a member of the Philadelphia Union U-17/U-18 Academy team for two seasons. In 2011, Campbell was selected to play in two MLS Reserve games with the Union, starting at left back versus the Columbus Crew and Toronto FC.

"Shane is a great athlete that just keeps getting better in his soccer abilities," PSU men's soccer coach Bob Warming said in a statement. "His speed and athleticism make him a very difficult guy to get behind for opposing attackers. I am looking forward to helping him continue to get better and develop into the best player he can be. Great attitude and great work ethic are a really good start toward getting there and Shane has both those qualities."

Kaschak graduated from high school in December in order to enroll at PSU at the beginning of the spring semester.

Kaschak served as the inaugural recipient of the Cost Family Endowed Men's Soccer Scholarship. The three-time First Team All-York-Adams League selection finished his career with 73 goals and 39 assists despite missing his senior year with a broken foot. In 2010, Kaschak led the Wildcats to a 24-2 record. For his standout season, he earned York-Adams League Player of the Year, All-U.S. East Region and Pennsylvania All-State honors.

Warming, who attained his milestone 400th career win in 2011, returns 13 letterwinners and eight starters from last season's team that advanced to the Big Ten Tournament title game for the third consecutive year, broke the Penn State record for shutouts in a season and led the conference in goals allowed and goals against average.
