Voith Turbo North America has been recognized by its parent company, Voith GmbH, for reaching 1,000 days without a lost-time accident.

The manufacturer at 25 Winship Road in Manchester Township reached the mark on June 26 with more than 1 million hours worked since a lost-time accident.

"Safety is a top priority across Voith Turbo and the entire Voith family, and today's milestone is evidence of the commitment to safety demonstrated by every man and woman working for Voith Turbo in North America," said Norm Boisvert, chief administrative officer at Voith Turbo in York. "One thousand days without a lost-time accident is an important milestone, and one we have strived to reach for nearly three years. We look forward to continuing our commitment to safety excellence."

In February, Voith Turbo received the Governor's Award for Safety Excellence from the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry. The award recognizes successful employer-employee safety programs that produce tangible safety improvements.

Out of more than 9,200 eligible companies in Pennsylvania, 56 submitted applications and 10 received awards.
