The 31st annual York Saint Patrick's Day Parade brought Irish cheer to York City on Saturday.

With 62-degree temperatures, the parade saw record attendances, said Mary Yeaple, one of the parade's organizers.

"It's been such a long winter, people were just happy to be outside," she said.

Organizers estimate between 15,000 and 20,000 people attended the event, Yeaple said. The parade typically draws about 10,000 people each year.

There were about 90 entries in this year's parade, and judges commented that it was hard to pick winners, she said.

"It was a great day for the Irish," she said.

Yeaple extended thanks to parade attendees, sponsors and volunteers and said the planning committee will soon begin its year-round work on next year's parade.
