As if the promise of sugary and caffeinated goodness wasn't enough reason to visit Macklin's Cupcakes and Coffee, the York Township business has added a few more incentives to pull customers through the door.
First, there's the new name -- Macklin's Café -- and an expanded menu that now includes sandwiches, soups and salads.
Just about 15 months after opening, the café -- located at 2069 Springwood Road in the Queensgate Shopping Center -- also has a new look and feel, said Meghan Smith, Macklin's director of marketing.
"We have a more relaxed, hipster atmosphere," Smith said. "It's a more casual, relaxed feeling."
The café's wedding business is also expanding. In 2012, 25 couples hired Macklin's to bake cupcakes
Local art: Customers will also notice artwork on freshly painted walls. Every few months, the café will feature the work of a different artist, whose creations can be purchased on site, Smith said.
The café is beginning with a York artist and will aim to continue featuring local artists, Smith said.
"We're a local small business and we'd like to help other locals," she said.
