The Bon-Ton Stores Inc. on Thursday announced October sales.

During the four weeks that ended on Oct. 27, comparable store sales increased 3.7 percent. Total sales also increased 3.7 percent to $199.1 million this year, compared to $192 million during the same period last year.

Comparable store sales also increased during the third quarter, climbing 1.9 percent to $668.7 million, compared to $656.1 million during the same quarter last year.

The retailer's full third-quarter results will be released Nov. 15.
