Schindler Elevator Corp. will host a groundbreaking ceremony to celebrate its new manufacturing facility in Hanover.
The event will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the site of its new address, 21 Industrial Drive.
At the groundbreaking will be Jakob Zueger, the company's North American CEO and U.S. Rep. Todd Platts.
The New Jersey-based company recently purchased 23 acres in the Penn Township Industrial Park, where Schindler will construct a 220,000-square-foot facility.
Schindler Elevator Corp. is the U.S. arm of the Switzerland-based Schindler Group, which first announced in January that it would close its Gettysburg plant and relocate.
Camp Hill, Hanover and York were eyed by the manufacturer as viable options to transfer about 100 employees, and Schindler inked the deal in Hanover last month.
