Stocks were roughly flat on Thursday. Investors were unimpressed by a Labor Department report about lower jobless claims but also unrattled by worrisome developments like record-high unemployment in Greece.

The Dow Jones industrial average fell 18.58 points, or 0.1 percent, to 13,326.39

The Standard & Poor's 500 rose 0.28 point, or 0.02 percent, to 1,432.84.

The Nasdaq composite index fell 2.37 points, or 0.1 percent, to 3,049.41.

For the week:

The Dow is down 283.76 points, or 2.1 percent.

The S&P 500 is down 28.09 points, or 1.9 percent.

The Nasdaq is down 86.78 points, or 2.8 percent.

For the year:

The Dow is up 1,108.83 points, or 9.1 percent.

The S&P 500 is up 175.24 points, or 13.9 percent.

The Nasdaq is up 444.26 points, or 17.1 percent.
