Adriana Ferrante spent most of Wednesday afternoon cleaning up what will become her new Italian restaurant.
She and her father, Peter Ferrante, will open Valentino's on Oct. 1 in York Township with new flooring, fresh food and updated décor.
Valentino's will occupy the space previously used by Pomodoro's Italian Restaurant & Grill, which closed in May.
The menu for Valentino's will include a wide range of Italian dishes, including brick-oven pizza and paninis.
"Everything will be fresh. We won't even turn on the freezers," Adriana Ferrante said.
She and her father decided to open the restaurant this spring after they graduated from culinary school and when the space became available at 205 Pauline Drive.
The Ferrantes also own Messina Italian Restaurant in Stewartstown, Mama's Italian Restaurant in Wellsville and Piero's Pizza in Dillsburg.
This week they were working to revamp the home of their next restaurant by cleaning, redecorating and ripping out carpeting in the dining area to replacing it with ceramic flooring, she said.
The new Italian eatery is BYOB and will feature live jazz music on Saturdays.
Valentino's hours will be 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
